A Glimpse of Everything

Take the headache of deciding which parts of each town to see.  Book onto one of the many organised tours which will give you the best taste of each town in a few days.  This will help you to decide if you would like to see more or a specific place.

From as little as CY£38.00 you can make the trip across the North - South border and visit the beautiful village of Kyrenia on the Northern coast, along with the Pentadaktylos Mountains which overlook the village.  Here you will visit the impressive Agios Hilarion Castle which dates back to the 8th - 10th century AD.  After this  Bellapais Abbey an apparelled sample of Gothic Art.

Alternatively, stay in the Republic of Cyprus and visit Nicosia or as it is known by the locals Lefkosia.  Travel along the Green Line and through to the newly restored Famagusta Gate and onwards to the Archbishop's Palace.  See a wide variety of priceless paintings and fascinating icons.
There is as always time for shopping and taking in the atmosphere of the area before heading off for a traditional lunch.

The Troodos Mountains and surrounding villages has much to offer you.  With many Byzantine churches, tavernas, wineries and spectacular views.  After reaching Troodos main village square why not walk the extra few metres to the top of Mount Olympus with it's peak at 1951mtrs above sea level. (You may have seen this on your flight into the island).  Take in the wonder of the mountains and breathe in that refreshing cool air.
Then move onto the Tomb of Archbishop Makarios III, the first President of Cyprus.  He is buried a short distance from the magnificent Kykkos Monastery where he entered as a novice at the age of 13.

See the Zenobia Wreck.  Even if you are not a diver you will be able to take in the breathe-taking wonder of this 172mtr long ferry that lies just out of the harbour at Larnaka.  So how can you do this, by taking the Submarine of course.  During this educational trip to the bottom of the sea you will not only see the wreck but a large variety of fish which include bream, wrasse, barracudas, the occasional turtle (May - Sept) and the lesser spotted diving group who will all give you a wave.  After you submarine experience there is a catamaran trip where lunch will be served before returning to harbour ready for the journey home.

Where ever you wish to visit there is always much to see and do so don't forget your camera/camcorder.
